narrowly prefer the album version. using a piano almost as a percussion instrument? fantastic.
i find the orchestration on the jon brion version distracting. or, well...somehow emphasizing strings transfers a lot of the tension changes to the music instead of letting it be carried by her voice. but maybe i just notice it more because i'm not as used to it. however, her voice on the last "this is not about love / cause i am not in love" cracks a little, and it's incredible.
really i'd love to hear this super minimalist.
